PostSubject: Freeze Watch   Mon Oct 27, 2008 5:46 pm

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TALLAHASSEE HAS ISSUED A FREEZE
WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH
WEDNESDAY MORNING. A LAKE WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
7 PM EDT /6 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING.

A VERY COLD AIRMASS WILL MOVE IN BEHIND A STRONG COLD FRONT LATE
TONIGHT. THE RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS COLD
AIRMASS WILL REMAIN FAR ENOUGH WEST TONIGHT AND KEEP WINDS
ELEVATED. THIS WILL PREVENT TEMPERATURES FROM REACHING THE
FREEZING MARK BY TUESDAY MORNING. HOWEVER...THIS RIDGE OF HIGH
PRESSURE WILL MOVE CLOSER TO THE REGION ON TUESDAY NIGHT AND ALLOW
WINDS TO GO CALM. THIS WILL CREATE EXCELLENT RADIATIONAL COOLING
CONDITIONS AND ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO DROP QUICKLY AND POTENTIALLY
DROP BELOW FREEZING EARLY ON WEDNESDAY MORNING FOR A COUPLE OF
HOURS. THE GREATEST CHANCE FOR SUB FREEZING TEMPERATURES WILL BE
OUTSIDE THE URBAN CITY CENTERS OF TALLAHASSEE...DOTHAN...ALBANY
AND VALDOSTA. IN THESE RURAL LOCATIONS...LOW TEMPERATURES OF 30
TO 32 ARE POSSIBLE ON WEDNESDAY MORNING.
